David Bond- Lucky B Designs
David Bond is a working artist, and has spent his entire adult life as such. Trained as a traditional sign writer and illustrator, and making his living under his company name Lucky B Design. Celebrating 36+ years in business, and counting. A real rounder of sorts, David has worked all over the country and even in Japan. “I love the road, getting out there in the middle of it all, really inspires me creatively. I just can’t get enough, and I always have an eye out for history and inspiration along the way“. Born and raised on the Central Coast of California, David was born into generations of ranching and farming in that part of the world. In fact, the “Lucky B” is his families fourth generation cattle brand, adapted into his company name. David has worked in Texas for many years, and just over five years ago made the move full-time back to Texas. “I was already here half of the year anyway working, so we basically made the move back, to be closer to our kids and grandkids “.
David’s clients are fairly diversified, with many notable companies representing the western world. Clients such as Rios of Mercedes, American Hat Company, Rocket Buster Boots, Kimes Ranch, Teton Ridge, Boot Barn and the Fort Worth stockyards to name a few, but also companies outside of the western world such as Harley Davidson, Nike, Patagonia, Firestone Walker brewing company, Vans shoes and the Born-Free motorcycle show. David‘s work has been written up in Juxtapoz magazine, Vogue magazine and Texas Monthly to name a few.
David’s work captures the essence of the western world, and elements of that are always present in his work. As David always says, “I always champion the cowboy in everything that I do, for years it seemed like everyone was trying to erase the cowboy, so I always do what I can to bring him forward”.
